Biography

Will Barry is a London-based pianist, drummer and percussionist who recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. He has appeared as part of many different projects at venues in his home town such as the 606 Club, Ronnie Scott's, The Bull's Head, the Jazz Café and Vortex Jazz Club. Will has performed with Mark Lockheart, Stan Sulzmann, Clark Tracey, Jean Toussaint, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and, whilst living in Spain, Mario Rossy, Madison McFerrin and Perico Sambeat. During his year in Spain he performed in Barcelona, Alicante and Madrid with Cuban trombonist Julio Montalvo’s Collective and recorded for students at Berklee College of Music in Valencia. He also appeared on two CDs and gave a  masterclass at the Sedajazz school. Most recently Will has appeared as part of Phronesis bassist Jasper Høiby’s new group ‘Fellow Creatures’, performing at King's Place Hall One and at Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Chucho Valdés (Irakere) described his playing as "sensitive and fluid - a beautiful sound”.
